This month’s new moon in Gemini is the final eclipse in this mid-year series designed as tipping point for a world deep in transition. As the moon moves between the earth and sun, a ring of fire forms a halo around the moon and her dark centre. Through this portal we are rebirthed by this rollercoaster eclipse season.
As partner of the lunar eclipse at the Sagg full moon two weeks ago, the solar eclipse in Gemini is nothing less than a neural reset. Mercury, the planet of the mind, will also cross in front of the sun hours after the eclipse. In retrograde and conjunct the new moon Mercury’s cazimi, a beautiful Arabic word that means in the heart of the sun, recalibrates jangled minds overwrought by a torrid eclipse season. This eclipse resets consciousness in ways we will not be able to fully fathom as it happens. Spend the dark moon cultivating a clear headspace and dispense with outworn ways of thinking and seeing.
The Gemini new moon offers an inherent duality that can contain our multitudes. It encourages us to trade one trick ponies and any ruts our minds may have gotten stuck in for the panacea of possibility. Gemini flicks the switch more deftly than most, their quicksilver minds able to make change on the fly. That glorious mutability is this month’s superpower. Adaptability – no matter what – remains the name of the game.
We still have the next eighteen months to let this particular eclipse story play out. There is far more to arrive from the future in that time and much that cannot yet be seen, perceived or work out as it cloaks itself in the shadow of the moon. Neptune’s square to this eclipse adds delirious doses of illusion, imagination or inspiration if you can read between its blurred lines. Shimmering morsels arrive as taster of what is to come and flavour our dreams with omens and portents. Keep those glittering eyes peeled for the information downloading as the flaming reset button lights up the sky.
