Though it’s been years since athleisure made its first sartorial debut, we still all live in our activewear and we wouldn’t have it any other way. But whether it’s tequila, a newborn or many an espresso keeping us up all hours of the night, it’s easy to get complacent when Saturday morning rolls around.

This week we speak to Miah Madden an actor and student of law who LOVES to move.
Miah’s quite keen on Reformer Pilates but whatever it is, it’s always bike shorts or leggings with a sports bra and tight cropped tank which leave her feeling fresh in the studio.
And for the street, she styles her set up by adding boots and a jacket, or hoodie and slides. Go on, get to know more about Miah below.

Loving, motivated, adventurous, dedicated, loyal, caring!
What’s your favourite part of your career?
Meeting people that inspire me to stay motivated and grow.
How do you incorporate movement through your work?
My work as an actress is often highly physical and I find myself doing choreography that allows me to work and get a workout in all at once!
How do you express yourself?
Through getting outside and feeling the breeze on my face. Getting out into nature is the greatest mental release.
How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Coordinated, casual, fresh.
Who has had the greatest influence on your style?
My sisters! I get all the hand me downs so my styles is literally theirs!
One accessory you wouldn’t leave the house without.
A gold necklace.
Hat or sunglasses?
Why not both!
Lo or high-tops?
Low top sneakers, but I often find myself wearing Blundstones with my leggings or shorts!
Do you wear jewellery when you workout?
A gold necklace and small gold hoops most of the time. It has to be comfortable to wear though!
Duffle, tote, purse or backpack?
Tote all the way!
Your go-to exercise?
Inner thigh resistance training on the reformer pilates machine.
What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received?
To always be considerate of how your outfit cuts your body line. As I’m high waisted I always wear high waisted leggings with either a crop or a cropped tee!
What motivates you to get active when you’re in a funk?
The thought of the post-workout high!
How does working out make you feel?
It releases all my stress and is so amazing for mental health. Working out helps me think clearer and make decisions with more clarity.
What’s the most important thing to you when you’re looking for activewear?
Shorts or leggings that are comfortable in any position you may find yourself in!
What’s your favourite colour and why? Eg, Indigo because it makes me calm/zen… perfect for my yoga
Blue because it reminds me of the sky and the ocean, and I grew up by the water!

What is your favourite destination to get active outdoors and explore?
Surfing on Oahu’s North Shore for sure!

Definitely a cardio workout which included a 5km run at the end of a very intense workout!
