Inside TH7’s Growth and the Cleveland Opening WITH co-founder and director, Tom Harvey
About the Cleveland Opening
Why was Cleveland chosen as the location for TH7’s sixth clinic? What makes this community a natural fit for your next expansion?
Cleveland felt like a natural next step for us. It’s a community that really embraces an active, fitness-led lifestyle with many residents involved in triathlons, running, and high gym activity. At the same time, it’s an area that hasn’t had access to a premium recovery service like TH7, and we saw a real opportunity to bring something valuable to the local health and wellness scene.
Are there any new features or upgrades visitors can expect?
The Cleveland clinic will feature our private suite, which has been highly successful at our Newstead location. We have also improved the overall flow of the facility, including expansive end-of-trip areas for added convenience. Additionally, the red light therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and compression zones have all been given a refreshed, modern look to enhance the visitor experience.
What can first-time clients expect when they walk into the Cleveland clinic for the first time? How does the design and atmosphere support TH7’s vision?
Clients can expect a high-end recovery and wellness clinic that is neither a day spa nor a gym. The design and layout have been carefully planned to ensure clients move efficiently through the facility. Rather than wandering and guessing, visitors follow a thoughtfully designed journey through our recovery protocols, maximising the benefits of each session. The experience is seamless from check-in through to changing and completing a tailored recovery plan. We limit the number of seats per equipment type, so when you book a session, your spot is guaranteed, making the experience both personal and hassle-free.
About TH7’s Growth and Vision
TH7 has become Australia’s largest multi-clinic recovery facility. What do you think has driven this rapid growth and national appeal?
I believe the growth reflects a broader cultural shift. More people are seeking spaces where they can disconnect and reset from their busy, often stressful lives. It’s no longer just about how hard you can push yourself in the gym; it’s about how well you recover. TH7 provides a space where clients can feel like they are having a true reset day, often gaining more benefits than they initially realise. While there is plenty of media buzz and influencer hype around saunas and ice baths, we have been quietly refining our approach for years. We want to remain the trusted source of truth by distilling the best evidence and research behind recovery protocols. Our deep commitment to exceptional customer experience also keeps people coming back. With many burning out from demanding jobs, busy schedules, or overtraining, TH7 offers a sanctuary to restore and return to peak performance.
You’ve referred to TH7 as a “third space” — can you explain what that means and why it's important today?
The concept of a “third space” is a place beyond home and work where people can fully switch off and reset. It’s an environment where outside stresses fade away, and you can completely immerse yourself in the recovery experience. This is especially important today as people struggle to find genuine downtime in an increasingly busy world.
With wellness becoming increasingly popular, how does TH7 stand apart from other recovery or wellness brands?
TH7 stands apart due to our science-backed protocols and intentional design. We are not a towel-and-bathhouse setup; every session is carefully sequenced and timed to meet the unique results our clients are looking for. Our entire team is dedicated to education, so everyone who walks through our doors receives the right exposure (down to the minute) of each piece of equipment to maximise their session. Our custom booking system also prevents overcrowding, because no one likes to experience that when visiting a wellness facility.
Science & Personalisation
TH7 is known for its science-led protocols — how do you ensure treatments stay evidence-based while still feeling accessible and luxurious?
All our protocols are firmly grounded in scientific research and continuously refined using real-world clinic data and client feedback. Every member of our team undergoes an intensive two-week online and in-clinic training program to master the equipment, protocols, timing, and how to tailor sessions to individual needs. While we provide clear guidelines, we still avoid rigid prescriptions to ensure the experience is welcoming and not intimidating. People are time poor, and so we really just want to remove the guess work from their day, whether you’re a busy mum, a high-performing corporate, or an athlete… it’s about walking in, not thinking, and still knowing that you’re reaping the full benefits of your TH7 visit. I feel like that is truly the ultimate luxury. Our clinics are also intentionally designed with natural materials and open, flowing spaces to support a sense of calm and clarity — everything from the lighting to the layout is built to help clients disconnect and move seamlessly through their protocol. Our approach has been shaped by insights from over 300,000 bookings, and we’re always keeping up with the latest research and science to ensure we are always on the front foot
How does TH7 tailor recovery plans to suit different lifestyles — from athletes to busy professionals or everyday wellness seekers?
Our protocols are designed for every body and every lifestyle. You don’t have to be a professional athlete to benefit from what we offer. More people are coming to TH7 seeking a space to reset from their busy lives. We guide clients through deliberate and controlled stress exposures so they can better handle life’s other stressors with improved clarity and resilience.
About Tom Harvey
As a former professional athlete, how has your personal recovery journey shaped the TH7 concept? Was there a moment that sparked the idea?
My injury while playing rugby 7s led me to buy a Theragun and eventually become a distributor for them in Australia. While I found selling the product rewarding, I wanted to create something bigger — a dedicated destination where multiple recovery tools could be accessed under one roof. Initially, we focused on athletes, but it quickly became clear that the benefits extended far beyond sport. My personal experience highlighted the powerful impact recovery tools can have on both body and mind, and I wanted to make that accessible to everyone.
Looking ahead, where do you see TH7 in five years? Are there plans to expand further across Australia or even internationally?
TH7 is built to make a difference. We have created more than a wellness space — it’s a place where science, innovation, and exceptional service come together to positively impact lives. Whether clients come for recovery, wellness, or longevity, we are committed to offering the very best experience. We plan to expand nationally by opening eight new clinics per year over the next two years, building a network focused on recovery, performance, and longevity. International expansion is also on the horizon once we establish a strong presence in Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, and Byron Bay.
