THREE BAROSSA WELLNESS DESTINATIONS YOU CAN'T MISS

Balance out your next wine tasting tour

South Australia is a beautiful place. If you can take the time to explore, the destination is rewarding for a traveller, with everything from incredible natural surrounds and wonders to boutique wine bars, experimental restaurants in its capital Adelaide, as well as not one, but two, world-renowned wine regions.

If you’ve only got the weekend to escape, look no further than The Barossa, just a 50-minute drive from the city centre. You’ll definitely be tasting the best wine in the world, with 80 doors to choose from. Now, that’s a lot of wine! But if you’re anything like us and well, believe in (a little bit of) balance, look no further than our short list of wellness activities and destinations while you plan your itinerary.

We speak to Jenny O’Brien co-founder of Barossa Wellness, about why you should look at incorporating wellness into your next getaway.

What are the top three reasons people are booking your experiences while on holidays?

Prioritising their health and wellbeing.
Seeking a change of pace; to be able to slow down and leave feeling more refreshed and energised than when arrived. To de-stress and relax. To balance out their traditional Barossa experience (bounty of food and wine offerings). As we like to say…’we are the Yin to the Barossa’s Yang’.

Other wellness activities to work into your next Barossa itinerary… (wine optional but also kind of a requirement given your location if you ask us!)

Stay at Kingsford at The Barossa – get in touch with nature with a truly special Bush Bath and take in the surrounds.

Surrender to nature and indulge in Kingsford’s world-famous alfresco bush bath. With only the Para River and a giant gumtree in sight, you can switch off from the world around you, with a cold glass of bubbles in hand while you soak in a steamy Epsom soak.

Book a tennis match at 1837’s tennis court, post-play finish off with a hard-earned cheese board and wine tasting.

The redeveloped estate features a refreshed cellar door, refurbished accommodation, seminar centre, helipad, ATP-sized tennis court. They also have a golf course, if this is more your thing!

If you can’t get around to these, don’t fret… it’s all about balance after all. Your wellness routine while on holidays can be any type of daily movement or a daily practice, whether this is meditation, journaling, yoga, a walk or stretching to start your day.
