Base Pilates Co.
We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Bianca, the owner and founder of Base Pilates Co. to learn more about her vision for the studio and what clients can expect from the welcoming and expert-led space.
-
Tell us about your studio, what was the inspiration behind it?
Base Pilates Co offers a variety of classes designed for all fitness levels, making Pilates accessible to everyone, no matter their experience. Our studios provide a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can leave your worries behind and enjoy a full body workout. It really is the perfect space to relax your mind and work up a sweat, all without it feeling like a chore.
-
What type of pilates practice do you focus on, and what led you to choose this approach?
We focus on smaller group Reformer & Mat Pilates classes, (8 beds in Dural, 10 in Kellyville) with the aim of helping people become stronger, feel empowered and more confident. Our classes cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced, with the goal of working every muscle to build strength and improve functional movements. Personally, I've been a longtime lover of Pilates and have seen firsthand the benefits it has for both the mind and body. That’s why I made the career shift from the corporate world, because I’m truly passionate about sharing these incredible benefits with others. I also work 1:1 with clients pre and post rehab and to reach functional goals as a Clinical Pilates Instructor. I love being able to provide different options of classes for people to suit their requirements.
-
What does movement mean to you?
Movement is EVERYTHING! It not only promotes a stronger body but equally as important it helps to enhance mental health, improve sleep and put you in a happier mood helping you tackle whatever comes your way with ease.
-
What do you love most about your community?
I may be biased but we really do have the best community at Base. Our clients are kind and caring while our instructors are welcoming and provide unwavering support. I could not ask for a better crew to be surrounded by each day.
-
Looking ahead to 2025, are there any exciting plans or upcoming projects for Base Pilates Co?
We have lots of things in the works for 2025! Something we are really looking forward to is launching our very first Health & Wellness retreat in collaboration with our favourite Yoga studio, Yoga Bare in the Hawkesbury. It’s going to be an incredible, immersive 4-day wellness long weekend full of total mind & body nourishment. We can’t wait for this and know it will be the first of many!
-
What’s your best advice for someone striving for consistency or setting new goals as we head into the new year?
Set easy to do, fun, realistic goals, nothing too complicated and start small! Once you have achieved the first goal then move on to the next. Don’t overwhelm yourself with so many things you want to achieve because then nothing will get done.
-
What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far in running your business?
Don’t take things personally and be ready to change things quickly when needed!
-
What do you love most about running Pilates Studios?
I love sharing my passion with others and providing an opportunity for people to participate in movement that is not only fun but effective. I have loved meeting like minded people which has led to some amazing collaborations and being surrounded by incredible humans each day.
