SWANSEA BEACH CHALETS, TASMANIA

THE UPSIDE travelled to the incredible Swansea Beach Chalets in Tasmania to shoot our latest campaign – Liberte SS21

Swansea is a picturesque seaside village that overlooks Great Oyster bay to the incredible Freycinet National Park. Set amongst this incredible town is a hidden gem, The Swansea Beach Chalets, a local treasure perched on the dunes and perfectly placed to catch the days first light.. The incredible beach is private and boy is it breathtaking, a travellers dream if you just want to get away from it all this is the spot for you. THE UPSIDE team had the unique experience of winding down and taking in the serenity and views as the sun went down after shooting around the village and property…

We chatted with Lisa from the Swansea Beach Chalets about some of her favourite things to do around Swansea and the best time to visit…

Lisa, the views are amazing how long have the chalets been here and what is your number one recommendation or activity for visitors to the property?

The property has been enjoyed by generations of Tasmanian families holidaying on the east coast. These particular chalets were built 15 years ago.

Relax, your on Swansea time now

If you had to choose between catching the Sunrise of sunset what would be your first choice?

Always the sun rising over the Freycinet peninsular

Do you have a favourite chalet to stay in on the property that we can recommend UPSIDERS to book when travelling?

The premium waterfront chalets are our favourites

In terms of cuisine in the area, can you recommend the best spots to visit and give us the locals knowledge for first-timers to the area?

There are so many great options in our area. Slurping beautiful briny oysters freshly shucked from Melshell Oysters at 9 Mile Beach and a short drive north to ALM restaurant at Milton Vinyard and Mel’s Kitchen at Springvale Vineyard. A 5-minute walk from Swansea Beach Chalets is The Barkmill Tavern and Bakery or walk along the beach into town and you have beautiful cafés that use local produce in their delicious dishes. Then heading south from Swansea you can pop into Kates Berry Farm for dessert deliciousness.

What is the best time year to visit Swansea and stay at the Chalets?

We love winter. Chilly mornings followed by sunny calm days and toasty nights sipping something local by the fire pits. Lay on a blanket and take in the vast southern sky full of stars with no lights to dim their sparkle.

Rug up for long beach walks with no one else to disturb you and treasures to collect.

Can you share with us your top 5 things to do in Swansea?
