RESORT 25

Priscilla Hon, beyond
the baseline.

For dear friend of the brand and professional tennis player Priscilla Hon, the Australian Open is about more than match play. It’s familiar streets, favourite coffee stops, and the quiet comfort of returning to the same places that help her reset between matches.

We spent time with Priscilla in her hometown of Brisbane, chatting about the upcoming AO tornament, and stepping into the main draw with a wild card.

New Season - Resort

Q - You’re stepping into the main draw with a wild card this year, how does that moment sit with you?

A - It’s really special. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity, especially after everything my body has been through. I was pushing hard to try and play enough tournaments so I wouldn’t need one, but I’m lucky to be from Australia and have that support. It feels like a vote of belief, and I don’t take that lightly.

Q - When it comes to competing, what do you look for in what you wear on court? Confidence, comfort, movement, mood?

A - All of it. Comfort and movement are non-negotiable, but confidence is huge. When I feel good in what I’m wearing, it genuinely changes how I walk on court, how I carry myself, and how I compete.

Q - Are there particular THE UPSIDE pieces you reach for when you want to feel your best on court, and why?

A - I’m obsessed with THE UPSIDE's relaxed pants. I genuinely live in them both on-and-off the court. The design team have mastered the balance between fashion, comfort, and performance.

Q - Who are the people that keep you feeling most like you, and how do you like to spend time with them when you’re back in Australia?

A - My family and close friends. They ground me. I love simple things with them coffee, beach walks, dinners at home.

Q - Is there a café or restaurant in Melbourne that feels more like a ritual than a recommendation?

A - Yes, I definitely have a few go-to coffee spots that feel like little resets for me. I always stay in the same area it keeps me calm and comfortable knowing my surroundings and having my usual places.

Q - You’ve spoken about the importance of life beyond tennis. When competition takes up so much mental space, what helps you return to yourself off court?

A - Doing things that remind me I’m more than just an athlete. I love creating so I always have some kind of side hustle in the works haha and spending time with people I love, eating good food, and having moments where tennis isn’t the main character.

Q - Go-to colour on court?
A - White, black, green and yellow!

Q - What’s on for 2026? Personally and professionally!

A - More balance, more joy, and building things outside of tennis that truly excite me. I’m in the process of launching a sun stick brand with my friend Karolina Muchová called Invisible Skin, which will be coming out later this year. I’m still chasing my best tennis and aiming for a Top 50 ranking, but I’m also focused on building a life I genuinely love.

Q - Favourite thing to do in the summer?
A - Beach days, sunset walks, long dinners, and cooking.

Q - What’s your star sign, and are there any traits that feel especially true to you?

A - I’m a Taurus. One of my biggest traits is that if one of my closest people needs me, it doesn’t matter what time of day it is or what they need, I’ll always be there to help.
